Basic use of the device

PLEASE NOTE!
CAUTION – Danger of burns! The metal surface of the mixing bowl also becomes
hot from the heated contents. Only ever touch the mixing bowl by the handle or use
kitchen gloves.
CAUTION – Danger of scalding from hot steam and condensation! Be aware that
hot steam will emerge from the lid of the mixing bowl during cooking. Particular care
should be taken when removing the lid and when using the steaming attachment.
CAUTION – Danger of injury associated with food spraying out of the device!
Hold the measuring cup fi rmly when chopping up ingredients (e.g. ice cubes) at ele-
vated speeds (6 and higher) or when holding down the TURBO button.
Risk of damage to the device from overheating! Never place the motor unit on a
soft surface. The ventilation slots on the bottom of the device must not be covered.
Otherwise, the device could be damaged.
Risk of damage to the device from falling! Note that when chopping up food the
imbalance which is created in the mixing bowl may cause the whole device to move
in some circumstances. The device should therefore be set up so that it cannot fall
off the work surface.
Do not overload the device! Do not prepare a solid dough in the device (e.g. yeast
dough) and do not prepare more than 500 g of dough. Only use the TURBO button
with brief interruptions to chop hard foods (e.g. ice cubes).
Do not overfi ll the device! Make sure that you do not exceed the maximum fi lling
capacity (MAX mark in the mixing bowl) so that the mixing bowl does not spill over!
Caution: build-up of germs! Immediately clean the mixing bowl and accessories
after use to prevent the formation of germs (see chapter "Cleaning").
For reasons of safety, the device can only be switched on when the mixing
bowl is properly seated in the motor unit and the lid or steamer adapter is
locked.
1. Place the motor unit on a work surface:
– It must be dry, clean, level and not heatable.
– Make sure that there is enough distance to the edge of the work surface so that the
device does not fall down when in operation; also make sure that there is adequate
distance to other heat sources such as stovetops.
– There should also be clearance over the device (to cupboards and cabinets) and
on the sides in order to prevent any damage from any hot steam that is emitted.
– Also select a place where you can conveniently operate the device.
2. Make sure that the suction feet properly stick to the work surface.
3. Insert the mains plug in a properly installed socket that is easily accessible.
4. Make sure that the cross-blade adapter is properly fi xed in the mixing bowl. If you
would like to use additional accessories, e.g. for stirring or steaming, follow the in-
structions in the chapter "Using the accessories properly".
5. Add the ingredients to the mixing bowl as desired. Do not exceed the MAX mark in
the mixing bowl!
