• To prevent foods from spraying out, close the opening in the lid with the measuring
cup and hold it tight at high speeds levels.
• Select the speed levels 4 to 10 for coarse, fi ne and very fi ne results when chopping
and mixing. Slowly move the rotary knob to the desired position.
• Push the TURBO button for short bursts at high speed (10), e.g. for chopping ice
cubes. This button is also suitable for pulse operation: Larger (quantities of) food
are chopped into uniform pieces by pushing the TURBO button a few times in a row.
Stirring, puréeing, cooking and heating
The maximum speed level is 4 when the contents of the mixing bowl are warm or
when the heating function is on.
At low speed levels, the ingredients are stirred constantly and gently to prevent them
from sticking and burning on. This function is particularly suitable for preparing mash,
soups, pudding, sauces, rice pudding, stews, dough etc.
• Only use the cross-blade adapter for puréeing.
• Only use the cross-blade adapter to stir dough or meals with large pieces that could
jam the stirring adapter.
• Otherwise fi t the stirring adapter on the cross-blade adapter (see chapter "Using the
accessories correctly", section "Stirring adapter (butterfl y)") and follow the instruc-
tions in the section "Basic use of the device".
Whipping cream and egg whites
• To whip cream and egg whites, fi t the stirring adapter on the cross-blade adapter (see
section "Using the accessories properly", section "Stirring adapter (butterfl y)") and
follow the instructions in the section "Basic use of the device".
Steaming
PLEASE NOTE!
■ CAUTION – Scalding hazard due to spraying of hot liquid! Do not exceed the
speed level 2 when steaming.
CAUTION – Scalding hazard due to hot steam and hot condensation!
■ Never use the steamer unit without the corresponding lid!
■ Please note that hot steam is emitted along the sides and on top of the lid of the
steamer unit during operation.
■ Only hold the steamer adapter by the two handles on the side.
■ When opening the steamer adapter, always hold the lid so that you do not come into
contact with the rising steam or the dripping hot liquid.
■ After you remove the hot steamer adapter from the mixing bowl, place it down on a
moisture-resistant and heat-resistant surface.
Follow the instructions in the "Using the accessories properly" chapter – "Steam-
er unit".
Use the steamer unit to gently cook food using the hot steam that rises into the steamer
adapter from the mixing bowl.
