IMPORTANT REMARKS FOR ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Soil, air and water are essential to agriculture and to
all life on earth. RESPECT THEM. In the areas where
local regulations do not impose standards for the use
and disposal of chemicals and petrochemical prod-
ucts required by modern technology, adopt all the
necessary precautions to avoid any risk of pollution,
however light.
The following guidelines may be helpful for you:

If no regulations are in force, ask your Dealer

about the effects of lubricants, fuels, anti--freeze
mixtures, cleansers, etc... on people and the
environment; also ask how to store, use and dis-
pose of such products correctly. In most cases,
agricultural advisers will be able to answer your
questions satisfactorily.
Some suggestions:
1. As a rule, avoid any skin contact with liquid fuels,
lubricants, acids, solvents, etc...
Most of these products contain potentially harm-
ful substances.
2. Do not dispose of lubricants by burning (they
contain substances which may become toxic
during combustion).
3. Whenever possible, use biodegradable oil to lu-
bricate the chains (as this oil cannot be recov-
ered).
In many countries, biodegradable rape oil or
other vegetable--based lubricants are available
on the market.
4. While draining transmission and hydraulic sys-
tem oil, brake fluid, etc... avoid their spilling.
Store them in a safe place for disposing of them
properly later on, according to the regulations in
force and the available systems.
5. Immediately repair any hydraulic system leak or
failure, to prevent any risk of pollution, however
slight.
6. Do not increase the pressure in a pressurized
system. This may cause the components to
burst.
7. During welding, suitably protect the hoses
against sparks and hot material jets that could
drill them or weaken them, resulting in oil leaks.
