The machine storage carried out following the instructions of this section keeps the baler in good conditions and
ready to resume work without risks of damage. Such risks are often the cause of the bad operation and/or
anomalous breaks when work is resumed.
BEFORE STORAGE
1. Remove the twine rolls leaving only the two
sections threaded in the routing. In this way,
when work starts again, the rolls can be
repositioned more quickly and easily.
AATTENTION: open or remove the
baler guards only when the machine is
at a standstill. With open tailgate, fit on
both sides the safety catch, fig. 23.
2. Carefully
clean
the baler
accumulation of crop or dust, possibly using
compressed
air
recommended, as moisture could remain in the
most hidden parts, causing rust and oxidation).
3. Check all machine parts, repairing or replacing
the broken or worn parts, such as: pick--up bands
and tines, chains, chain tensioning shoes, belts,
etc..
NOTE: always ask for genuine spare parts, the only
ones that can ensure a perfect efficiency, being
specially designed for this type of machine.

4. Paint or protect with a thin grease film the parts
subject to abrasion; in this way, no rust would
form during the storage period.
5. Lubricate all the greasing points and the
mechanical joints.
6. Disassemble the chains, clean them and let them
dipped in oil with diesel oil for a few hours, hang
them so that they can dry, then protect them from
dust before the reassembly.
ATTENTION: do not oil the chains when
the baler is operating.
7. Close the tailgate and lower the pick--up with the
tractor hydraulic control, with engine off, to drain
the circuit hydraulic pressure completely.
8. Place the baler in a suitable surface, even, in a
dry and clean place.
9. Take out the universal joint from the tractor,
disconnect the hydraulic pipes and the electrical
cable.
10. Uncouple the machine from the tractor, remove
the on--board computer from the cab and keep it
in a dry place, protected from possible shocks.
11. Lift the wheels from the ground, placing two
suitable stands next to the axle.
