WINDGUARD - - Fig. 24
A correct adjustment of the windguard, re. 1, keeps
always the crop next to the pick--up tines, for a reg-
ular feeding.
Two types of adjustment are possible:
1. windguard height, possibility of adjusting the
pick--up to windguard clearance depending on
the swath volume.
--
Loosen the lock--nut re. 3.
--
By the screw re. 4 set the wished height of the
windguard, re. 1.
--
Tighten the locknut, re. 3.
2. Pressure of the windguard on the crop, re. 1 fig.
33, possibility of modifying the exerted pressure,
modifying the tension of the spring by the link rod,
re. 2 fig. 33.
--
Set the wished tension by the nut of the link rod,
re. 2 fig. 33.
NOTE: the correct adjustment is obtained when the
windguard presses the crop enough, keeping it in
touch with the pick- -up tines, for a correct feed-
ing.
BAR CONVEYOR CHAINS - - Fig. 35
The conveyor chain tension must be checked
after the first 100 bales and then regularly, every
500 bales.
DANGER: working under the open tailgate,
engage the locking devices (fig. 23).
Before carrying out this operation, oil the conveyor
chains and make the baler operate for a few minutes,
to make sure that all the links are free and are not
locked by rust or crop residues that could make the
adjustment useless.
Proceed as follows:
--
remove the rear guard.
--
Open the tailgate by exactly 50 cm, as shown by
the hatched line, re. 1, fig. 35 (this position corre-
sponds to the highest tension point of the con-
veyor chains).
--
Position one bar of the track chain, re. 2, in the
middle of the shaft guard pipe, as shown in the
fig. 35.
--
Applying a force by 150 Nm, check that on both
sides of the bar, re. 2, the clearance corresponds
to 5--10 mm.
--
If the clearance is higher, restore the required
tension:
a) loosen the upper nut, re. 3.
b) Act on the lower nut, re. 4, until restoring the
correct tension.
c) Carry out the same operation on the opposite
side, paying attention to adjust the same tension
on both sides.
--
At the end of the operations, refit the rear guard.
Conveyor chain bearings and bars - - Fig. 35
Regularly check that the bearings are in good condi-
tions and that the bars aren't damaged or bent (bar
deflections over 15/20 mm must be immediately
straightened).
If one bearing or one bar must be replaced, proceed
as follows:
--
Engage the tailgate locking devices (fig. 23).
--
Remove the rear guard.
--
Turn the concerned bar or bearing in the lower
position so that, after removing the guard, the
bearing, re. 6, can be accessed.
--
Remove the retaining ring, re. 5, then, using a
suitably sized puller, take out the bearing, re. 6.
--
If the bar must be replaced, continue the disas-
sembly removing the guard, re. 7, and the retain-
ing ring of the bearing, re. 8; then, remove the
two inner retaining rings, re. 9, and take out the
concerned bar.
Reassemble the removed bars or bearings in the re-
verse order of disassembly.
At the end of the operation, tension the conveyor
chains correctly, as described in the previous para-
graph.
DRIVE CHAIN ADJUSTMENT (baler right
side)
The tension of all chains must be checked after
the first 100 bales and then regularly every 500
bales.
ATTENTION: open or remove the baler
guards only when the machine is at a stan-
dstill.
With open tailgate, engage on both sides the safety
device, see fig. 23. Before resuming work, make sure
that all the guards are correctly installed.
Main drive chain - - Fig.43
--
By the link rod, re. 1, adjust the length of the
spring, re. 2, at 200±2 mm.
