Gallignani GA FB 12 and GA FB 12L model round balers
are studied to produce cylindrical bales, with a weight
not over 700 kg; for GA FB 15L model, instead, the
weight should not exceed 800 kg. The bales are
formed by three layers with a different density.
1 The first layer is the low density core, for the crop
aeration.
2 The second layer has a higher density and
doesn't influence the crop quality.
3 The third layer, thicker, protects the bales against
weather agents.
Modifying the pre--set density of the finished bale by the adjustable hydraulic valve, re. fig. 3, the thickness of
the different layers changes.
The finished bale quality depends on variables such as: crop type, swath arrangement, moisture, feeding flow,
operator's driving techniques and pre--set density.
DANGER
: no intervention should be carried
out on the machine while it is harvesting or
moving.
Strictly comply with this procedure:
1 Release the tractor PTO.
2 Switch the tractor engine off.
3 Engage the tractor parking brake.
4 Remove the keys from the dashboard.
5 Wait until all parts have come to a complete stop.
If the baler is separate, make sure it is in a stable
position: if required, use also the supplied stop
wedges.
6 If the pick--up is seized, do not try and press or
remove fodder while the machine is moving.
DANGER:
risk of tangling, wrapping, drag-
ging while trying to remove crop or foreign bo-
dies from the pick- -up while the machine is
operating.
Such an operation could cost you the life,
or the loss of a limb.

FIELD OPERATIONS
MAIN SAFETY RULES
7 Always refit all the safety guards after carrying
out any operation on the baler.
8 If the tailgate is open, engage the suitable safety
devices, see fig. 23.
The safety device engagement/release opera-
tion must be made out of the tailgate closing
area.
DANGER:
risk of squeezing due to the tailga-
te accidental closing.
9 During bale ejection, make sure no people, ani-
mals or things are standing the baler tailgate ope-
rating range.
DANGER:
risk of squeezing due to the tailga-
te opening.
10 Consider the ground sloping before ejecting the
bale.
