TROUBLESHOOTING CHART
No load engine speed inspection.
9 Operate the engine with no load.
9 Measure after warming up the engine.
3,000 r/min / Economy control switch-ON
4,500 r/min / Economy control switch-OFF
GOOD
Check the DC circuit breaker.
GOOD
DC coil DC voltage inspection
9 Connect sub coil 2 White leads.
9 Economy control switch-OFF.
9 Start the engine with no load.
9 Measure the voltage. (Tester range: AC 20 V)

DC coil AC voltage:
14.5–21.7 V at 20 °C (68 °F)
GOOD
Replace the rectifier.
WEAK OR NO DC CURRENT
OUT OF SPECIFICATION
DISCONNECTED

TOO LOW
DOES NOT GENERATE
GENERATOR SYSTEM
Check the throttle control system.
Refer to "THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM" in
CHAPTER 6.
Replace the DC protector.
Magnetic force is weak.
Replace the magneto rotor.
DC coil resistance inspection
9 Stop the engine.
9 Measure the resistance between the-White.
(Tester range: Ω × 1)

0.098 Ω ± 20 % at 20 °C (68 °F)
SPECIFICATION
Replace the stator assembly.
