GENERATOR SYSTEM

TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Start the engine.
Check the overload warning light.
DOES NOT LIGHT ON
Check the AC pilot light.
DOES NOT LIGHT ON
No load engine speed inspection.
9 Operate the engine with no load.
9 Measure after warming up the engine.
3,000 r/min / Economy control switch-ON
4,500 r/min / Economy control switch-OFF
GOOD
Wire harness inspection
Check the terminal of the connector for contamination
or rust, and connector for proper connection.
GOOD
Main coil voltage inspection
9 Start the engine with no load.
9 Economy control switch-OFF.
9 Connect the pocket tester to the White leads.
9 Measure the voltage. (Tester range: AC 300 V)

GENERATOR SYSTEM
Inspect the generator condition.
1. Connected electrical device is overloaded.
2. The generator overheated.
3. Connected electrical device requires large amount
of AC output voltages.

Refer to "OVERLOAD WARNING LIGHT" in
CHAPTER 2.
Check the pilot light.
Check the throttle control system.
Refer to "THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM" in
CHAPTER 6.
Connect or replace the connector.
Magnetic force is weak.
Replace the magneto rotor.
Main coil resistance measurement
9 Stop the engine.
9 Measure the resistance between the White leads.
(Tester range: Ω × 1)

1.6 Ω ± 20 % at 20 °C (68 °F)
SPECIFICATION
Replace the stator assembly.
