Wiring

Caution!
Before wiring, please compare the supply voltage with the information specified on the nameplate.
If safe operation is no longer possible (e.g. visible damage) please take the device out of service and
secure it against unintentional start-up.
Category II overvoltage protection is integrated into the system. If requirements are tighter, additi-
onal overvoltage protection equipment must be installed. To this end, the connection compartment
contains a top-hat rail.
Please provide a suitable switch or circuit breaker when installing in a building.
An overcurrent protection device (nominal current I=10 A) is required for the power cable. The pro-
tective earth connection must be made before all other connections. Any interruption in the protec-
tive earth can cause danger.

Quick wiring guide

4.1.1

Cable laying

• Lay the cable so that it is protected behind the rear panel of the device.
• Use cable ties to keep the cables out of the way.
• You should plan a cable length of approx. 1.7 m between the foundation to the terminal connec-
tion.
4.1.2

Cable types

- Power supply:
- Analogue, signal and message lines
- Interface RS485:
Note!
The terminal connection is in a protected position beneath the cabinet cover in the electronics com-
partment. Therefore to connect the power supply, you must remove the rear panel and the cover of
the device before commissioning. To install the rear panel and the cover, proceed in reverse order
to the descriptions in the following two sections.
e.g. NYY-J; 3-core; max. 2.5 mm
2
e.g. LiYY 10 x 0.34 mm
2
e.g. LiYCY 2 x 0.25 mm
