the plastic parts. Never use petrol, turpentine, thinner or similar products for
cleaning. Lubricate the REMS roller groove device every 40 operating hours
at the lubricating nipple (19). Use REMS gear grease Art. No. 091012.
Check the hydraulic oil level regularly. To do so, unscrew the hydraulic hand
pump and hold with the rear end facing vertically upwards. Open the pressure
limiting valve (16), unscrew the oil dipstick (20) from the lid of the tank, check
the level, refi ll REMS hydraulic oil Art. No. 091026 if necessary. Observe mark-
ings on the oil dipstick, do not overfi ll!
5. Faults
See also instruction manual of the respective drive unit REMS Amigo, REMS Amigo 2, REMS Amigo 2 Compact, REMS Amigo 22 V, REMS Tornado, REMS Magnum.
5.1. Fault: Wrong groove dimensions (width or depth)
Cause:
● Wrong grooving rollers inserted.
● Grooving rollers worn.
● Wrong groove depth selected on the setting disc.
● Different groove depth at the same setting of the stop for the groove
depth (17).
5.2. Fault: Machine does not start.
Cause:
● Emergency stop button (5) of the foot switch (4) not unlocked.
● Circuit breaker (6) of the foot switch has tripped.
● Worn carbon brushes, only drive units with universal motor or
REMS Amigo 22 V.
● Battery depleted or defective (REMS Amigo 22 V).
● Mains lead defective.
● Machine defective.
5.3. Fault: No feed of the grooving roller.
Cause:
● Pressure limiting valve (16) not closed.
● Too little hydraulic oil in the system.
● Groove roller device defective.
5.4. Fault: Pipe not picked up.
Cause:
● Grooving rollers worn.
● Quick-action hammer chuck (1) of the drive unit not closed
(REMS Magnum).
● Too little hydraulic oil in the system.
5.5. Fault: Pipe runs off the grooving rollers.
Cause:
● Pipe not aligned axis-parallel to the machine.
● Grooving rollers worn or defective.
6. Disposal
The REMS roller groove device may not be thrown in the domestic waste after
use but must be disposed of properly by law.

7. Manufacturer's Warranty

The warranty period shall be 12 months from delivery of the new product to the
fi rst user. The date of delivery shall be documented by the submission of the
original purchase documents, which must include the date of purchase and the
designation of the product. All functional defects occurring within the warranty
period, which are clearly the consequence of defects in production or materials,
will be remedied free of charge. The remedy of defects shall not extend or
renew the warranty period for the product. Damage attributable to natural wear
and tear, incorrect treatment or misuse, failure to observe the operational
instructions, unsuitable operating materials, excessive demand, use for unau-
thorized purposes, interventions by the customer or a third party or other
reasons, for which REMS is not responsible, shall be excluded from the warranty
Services under the warranty may only be provided by customer service stations
authorized for this purpose by REMS. Complaints will only be accepted if the
product is returned to a customer service station authorized by REMS without
prior interference and in a fully assembled condition. Replaced products and
parts shall become the property of REMS.

4.2. Inspection/repair

WARNING
Before any repair work, pull the mains plug or remove the battery! This
work may only be performed by qualifi ed personnel.

Change the hydraulic oil completely at least every 12 months. Tip up the tank
to drain off the old oil. Dispose of oil oil according to regulations.

Remedy:
● See labelling of the grooving rollers, change grooving rollers, see 3.1.
● Change grooving rollers.
● Check stop for groove depth (17), reset, see 3.2.
● On reaching the stop plate on the housing, let the machine continue running
for about another 10 revolutions without feeding.
Remedy:
● Unlock emergency stop button.
● Press circuit breaker.
● Have the carbon brushes or DC motor changed by qualifi ed personnel or an
authorised REMS customer service workshop.
● Charge the battery with the rapid charger or change the battery.
● Have the mains lead changed by qualifi ed personnel or an authorised REMS
customer service workshop.
● Have the machine checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer service
workshop.
Remedy:
● Close pressure limiting valve.
● Check hydraulic oil level, refi ll if necessary, see 4.1. Have the groove roller
device checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
● Have the groove roller device checked/repaired by an authorised REMS
customer service workshop.
Remedy:
● Change grooving rollers.
● Close quick-action hammer chuck of the drive unit, see 2.2. – 2.4.
● Check hydraulic oil level, refi ll if necessary, see 4.1. Have the groove roller
device checked/repaired by an authorised REMS customer service workshop.
Remedy:
● Align pipe axis-parallel to the machine and support with height-adjustable
material rest REMS Herkules 3B, REMS Herkules XL 12" (accessory, Art. No.
120120, 120125).
● Change grooving rollers.
The user shall be responsible for the cost of shipping and returning the product.
A list of the REMS-authorized customer service stations is available on the
Internet under www.rems.de. For countries which are not listed, the product
must be sent to the SERVICE-CENTER, Neue Rommelshauser Strasse 4,
71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland. The legal rights of the user, in particular the
right to make claims against the seller in case of defects as well as claims due
to wilful violation of obligations and claims under the product liability law are
not restricted by this warranty.
This warranty is subject to German law with the exclusion of the confl ict of laws
rules of German International Private Law as well as with the exclusion of the
United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sales of Goods
(CISG). Warrantor of this world-wide valid manufacturer's warranty is REMS
GmbH & Co KG, Stuttgarter Str. 83, 71332 Waiblingen, Deutschland.
