● Keep the fl oor dry and free from slippery materials such as oil. There is a
danger of injury from slippery fl oors.
● Keep a safe distance of at least one metre away from the workpiece by
access restrictions or cordons if it protrudes from the machine. Access
restrictions or cordoning off of the working area reduce the risk of trapping.
● Keep all electrical connections dry and away from the fl oor. Do not touch
plugs or the machine with wet hands. These safety precautions reduce the
risk of electric shock.
● Never reach into the revolving rollers of the roller groove device. There is
a risk of injury.
● Do not reach into the area of the motor (23) and support (21) during opera-
tion with REMS Collum, REMS Collum 2, REMS Collum 2 Compact, REMS
Collum 22 V. Only hold the electric die stock by the motor handle (26) and Collum 22 V. Only hold the electric die stock by the motor handle (26) and Collum 22 V

● Do not operate the machine without protective devices (14). Exposure of
moving parts increase the risk of injury.
● Make sure that you always stand to the side of the hydraulic hand pump

● Never extend the feed lever (15). The feed lever is overloaded and can break.
● Do not use REMS Magnum RG (all models) without the foot switch or with a
defective foot switch. The foot switch is a safety device which offers better control
by allowing you to switch off the machine in various emergency situations by taking
your foot off the switch. For example: If clothing gets entangled in the machine,
the high torque will pull you further into the machine. Clothing can be wound so
tight around arms or other parts of the body that bones can be crushed or broken.
● Only connect the drive units of protection class I to a socket/extension lead
with a functioning PE conductor. There is a danger of electric shock.
● Check the power cable of the machine and extension leads regularly for
damage. Have these renewed by qualifi ed experts or an authorised REMS
customer service workshop in case of damage.
● Only use approved and appropriately marked extension leads with a suffi -
cient cable cross-section. Use extension leads up to a length of 10 m with
cable cross-section 1.5 mm², from 10 – 30 m with cable cross-section 2.5 mm².
● Never let the machine operate unattended. Switch off the machine during
longer work breaks, pull out the mains plug. Machines can cause hazards
which lead to material damage and/or injury when left unattended.
● Only allow trained persons to use the machine. Apprentices may only use
the machine when they are over 16, when this is necessary for their training and
when they are supervised by a trained operative.
● Children and persons who, due to their physical, sensory or mental abilities
or lack of experience and knowledge are unable to operate the machine
safely may not use this machine without supervision or instruction by a
responsible person. Otherwise there is a risk of operating errors and injuries.

transporting and installing the machine, please note that the machine has a
high centre of gravity with and without the base frame, i.e. it is top heavy.
