4.1.4 Drilling operation

Check that the remote engine stop button ① is in position 1 and start the engine (refer to § 4.1.2 "Starting and stopping the machine"). Leave the engine to
idle for a short period while the speed stabilises and the engine temperature rises. Once the engine is warm, increase the speed by pushing the accelerator
lever ③to its maximum position.
Open the air lubricant tap ④ (see Fig.2)
NB: The consumption of refrigerant oil depends on how far the tap is opened and the
pressure inside the tank. This means that the tap only needs to be opened moderately if
the pressure is at its maximum, while it must be opened completely if the pressure is
lower.
For drilling, pull the indexed advance lever ② (see Fig.1). Take care to control the force
on the advance lever, listening to the engine to avoid stalling (refer to § 4.1.3 to
determine the appropriate speed of advance).
• Check that spraying is sufficient throughout the duration of drilling.
• As soon as drilling is complete, close the lubricant tap ④ (see Fig.3).
• Bring the spindle back to the initial position by pushing the indexing advance lever ② to
the vertical (see Fig. 1).
• When you have finished with the machine, reduce the engine speed and stop the engine
by moving the remote stop button ① to position 0.
