Fitting the hollow high-speed steel drill ④ on the spindle ⑥ must be done in three stages:
1) Fit the ejector ⑤ to the hollow drill ④ as shown in Fig.1.
2) Hold the complete assembly and insert it in the spindle ⑥ as shown in Fig. 2. During fitting, align the two flats on the drill ④ with the screws ③.
3) Once the drill ④ is against the front surface of the spindle ⑥ (Fig.3), bring one of the two screws ③ up to contact without tightening. Then bring the other
screw ③ up to contact and start to tighten the two screws successively.
(Given that the ejector spring exerts a pressure on the ejector ⑤ and therefore on the drill ④, the drill must be held against the front surface of the spindle
⑥ during tightening).
