3.2 Indexing the spindle advance lever
All operations to index the spindle advance lever must be performed with the
engine stopped and the machine placed flat on the ground.
Indexing the lever ② enables the spindle to be fully extended or retracted and
allows adjustment of the lever ② regardless of the spindle position.
To index the spindle advance lever, proceed as follows:
➊ Grip the indexed lever ② with the right hand and hold the machine by the carrying
handle ① in the left hand (see Fig.1).
➋ Bring the indexed lever ② towards you by pulling it (see Fig.2 > stage 1) then simultaneously turn the lever ② to the right or
the left (see Fig.2 > stage 2).
❸ Release the indexed lever ②, making sure that the lug ④ on the lever engages in the opening in the clamp flange ③ (see
diagram opposite).
To completely remove the spindle, proceed as follows:
➊ The indexed lever ② is in the high position (see Fig.3). Move the indexed lever ② backwards (going from Fig.3 to
Fig.4). The spindle comes out a few centimetres.
➋ Index the lever ② by bringing it backwards as explained above (from Fig.4 to Fig.5).
❸ Repeat stages ➊ and ➋ until the spindle comes completely out.
2
To fully retract the spindle, proceed in the same sequence but pulling the indexed lever forwards.
