► Wear non-slip, heavy-duty work gloves
when handling metal cutting attachments.
► STIHL recommends that all repair or
replacement work be performed by author‐
ized STIHL servicing dealers.
■ Unintentional starting may result in personal
injury or property damage. To reduce the risk
of personal injury and property damage from
unintentional starting:
► Remove the battery before inspect‐
ing the trimmer / brushcutter or car‐
rying out any cleaning, maintenance
or repair work, before storing, and
any other time the power tool is not
in use.
■ Use of parts that are not authorized or
approved by STIHL may cause serious or fatal
injury or property damage.
► STIHL recommends that only identical
STIHL replacement parts be used.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries
from a loose or damaged cutting attachment:
► Keep blades sharp.
► Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws after
each use.
► Never attempt to repair damaged cutting
attachments by welding, straightening or
modifying the shape. Always replace a
damaged cutting attachment before use.
■ The gearbox becomes hot during operation.
To reduce the risk of burn injury:
► Allow the gearbox to cool before
inspecting or lubricating and before
changing a cutting attachment or
deflector. Avoid contacting the gear‐
box while it is still hot following oper‐
ation.
■ Improper storage can result in unauthorized
use, damage to the power tool and an
increased risk of fire, electric shock and other
personal injury or property damage.
► Remove the battery from the power tool
before storing.
► Never store the power tool with the battery
inserted.
► When storing the battery, maintain a charge
of 40 % to 60 % for STIHL AP series batter‐
ies and a charge of 30 % to 45 % for STIHL
AR series batteries (2 green LEDs).
► If storing the battery in the charger, discon‐
nect the charger from the outlet.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter and battery
indoors in a dry, secure place that cannot
be accessed by children or other unauthor‐
ized users.
► Never store the battery in the trimmer /
brushcutter or in a container with small

metal objects capable of conducting elec‐
tricity (e.g., paper clips, nails, coins, keys).
■ Dropping the battery could result in personal
injury or property damage. To prevent the bat‐
tery from falling during removal:
► Use care when ejecting the battery.
