English
Always shut off the engine before storing
the trimmer / brushcutter, and any other
time it is not in use.
■ Use of parts that are not authorized or
approved by STIHL may cause serious or fatal
injury or property damage.
► STIHL recommends that only identical
STIHL replacement parts be used.
■ To reduce the risk of serious or fatal injuries
from a loose or damaged cutting attachment:
► Keep blades sharp.
► Tighten all nuts, bolts and screws after
each use.
► Never attempt to repair damaged cutting
attachments by welding, straightening or
modifying the shape. Always replace a
damaged cutting attachment before use.
■ The gearbox becomes hot during operation.
To reduce the risk of burn injury:
► Allow the gearbox to cool before
inspecting or lubricating and before
changing a cutting attachment or
deflector. Avoid contacting the gear‐
box while it is still hot following oper‐
ation.
■ Improper storage can result in unauthorized
use, damage to the power tool and an
increased risk of fire and other personal injury
or property damage.
► Shut off the engine before storing.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a
dry, secure place that cannot be accessed
by children or other unauthorized users.

Operating Notes
During break-in period
As all moving parts have to bed in during the
break-in period, the frictional resistances in the
engine are greater during this period.
A factory-new machine should not be run at high
revs (full throttle off load) for the first three tank
fillings. This avoids unnecessary high loads dur‐
ing the break-in period.
The engine develops its maximum power after
about 5 to 15 tank fillings.
