► When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter by
hand, hold the drive tube so that the unit
remains parallel to the ground. Keep the cut‐
ting attachment pointing backwards, opposite
the direction in which you are walking.
► When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter in
a vehicle, secure and position it to prevent
turnover, impact and damage.

WARNING
■ Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a
dry, secure place that is inaccessible to chil‐
dren and other unauthorized users,
Improper storage can result in unauthorized
use and damage to the trimmer / brushcutter,

When storing the trimmer / brushcutter:
► Wait for the engine to cool down.
► Keep the machine with a full tank of fuel in a
dry place, well away from sources of ignition,
until you need it again.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a dry
and secure location, out of the reach of chil‐
dren and other unauthorized persons.
When storing the trimmer / brushcutter for thirty
days or longer:
► Drain and clean the fuel tank in a well ventila‐
ted area. Dispose of fuel properly in accord‐
ance with local environmental requirements.

The following maintenance intervals are examples and
apply for normal operating conditions. Actual use and your
experience will determine the frequency of required inspec‐
tion and maintenance.

► If the trimmer / brushcutter is equipped with a
manual fuel pump: Press the manual fuel
pump at least 5 times.
► Start the engine and run it at idling speed until
it stops.
► Remove, clean and inspect the cutting attach‐
ment. Coat metal cutting attachments with cor‐
rosion inhibitor.
► Clean the trimmer / brushcutter,
► Secure and position the trimmer / brushcutter
to prevent turnover, impact and damage.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a dry
and secure location, out of the reach of chil‐
dren and other unauthorized persons.

19 Cleaning

19.1
Cleaning the Trimmer / Brush‐
cutter
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of personal injury from unin‐
tended activation, shut off the engine before
carrying out any cleaning work,
To clean the trimmer / brushcutter:
► Shut off the engine,
► Clean the power tool's polymer components
with a slightly dampened cloth. Do not use
detergents or solvents. They may damage the
polymer components.
► Do not use a pressure washer to clean the
trimmer / brushcutter or otherwise spray it with
water or other liquids.
