When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter:

hand, hold the drive tube so that the unit

ting attachment pointing backwards, opposite
the direction in which you are walking.
► When transporting the trimmer / brushcutter in
a vehicle, secure and position it to prevent
turnover, impact and damage.

Battery

never transport the battery with small metal
objects capable of conducting electricity (e.g.,
paper clips, nails, coins, keys),
When transporting the battery:

impact or damage. Never transport the battery

STIHL batteries comply with the requirements
set forth in UN-Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part
III, Subsection 38.3.
Commercial air, vessel and ground transporta‐
tion of lithium ion cells and batteries is regulated.
The battery is classified as a UN 3480, Class 9,
packaging group II product. Shipping it, either as
a complete tool or the battery, requires compli‐
ance with all applicable shipping regulations.
Check with the ground, vessel, air cargo or pas‐
senger airline to determine if transport is prohibi‐
ted or subject to restrictions or exemptions prior
to shipping or travel.
Normally, no further conditions have to be met by
the user in order to transport STIHL batteries by
road to the power tool's operating site. Check
and comply with any special regulations that may
apply to your situation.

Trimmer / Brushcutter
WARNING
■ Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a
dry, secure place that is inaccessible to chil‐
dren and other unauthorized users,
Never store the battery in the trimmer / brush‐
cutter. Improper storage can result in unau‐
thorized use and damage to the trimmer /
brushcutter,

■ To reduce the risk of unintended activation,
never store the trimmer with the battery inser‐
ted. Always remove the battery before storing.
When storing the trimmer / brushcutter:
► Remove, clean and inspect the cutting attach‐
ment. Coat metal cutting attachments with cor‐
rosion inhibitor.
► Clean the trimmer / brushcutter,
► Secure and position the trimmer / brushcutter
to prevent turnover, impact and damage.
► Store the trimmer / brushcutter indoors in a dry
and secure location, out of the reach of chil‐
dren and other unauthorized persons.
