► Place the cutting attachment (4) directly on top
of the thrust plate. Ensure that the cutting
attachment is positioned to rotate in the direc‐
tion indicated on the deflector.
► Slip the thrust washer (3) onto the drive shaft.
Keep the arched side facing up and the flat
side facing towards the metal cutting attach‐
ment.
► Slip the rider plate (2) onto the drive shaft.
► Insert the stop pin (7) in the hole in the gear‐
box and rotate the cutting attachment until the
stop pin slips into position and blocks the rota‐
tion of the drive shaft.
► Screw on the nut (1) counterclockwise and
tighten it down until the cutting attachment is
properly and securely tightened.
► Remove the stop pin from the hole in the gear‐
box.
Cutting attachments with more than 4 cutting
edges must be mounted with the cutting edges
pointing in the direction of rotation. Otherwise,
the cutting attachment will not cut. The direction
of rotation is indicated by an arrow on the under‐
side of the deflector.
NOTICE
A
■ Arrows on the deflector (A) (as seen from the
underside) show the correct direction of rota‐
tion of the cutting attachment. When viewed
from above, however, the cutting attachment
rotates counterclockwise.
NOTICE
■ After mounting or removing the cutting attach‐
ment, always remove the stop pin used to
block rotation of the drive shaft.

Removing a Metal Cutting Attachment
To remove a metal cutting attachment:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,

► Position the unit so that you are facing the
underside of the deflector and the drive shaft
is pointed upwards.
► Block the rotation of the drive shaft with the
stop pin.
► Unscrew the nut by turning it clockwise.
► Remove the rider plate, thrust washer, metal
cutting attachment and thrust plate.
► Remove the stop pin from the hole in the gear‐
box.
NOTICE
■ After mounting or removing the cutting attach‐
ment, always remove the stop pin used to
block the rotation of the drive shaft.

15.1
Putting on and Adjusting the
Shoulder Strap or Full Harness
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of injury from loss of control
and contact with the cutting attachment,
always wear a proper harness when working
with a metal cutting attachment,
Other approved harnesses are listed in this
instruction manual,
To put on the shoulder strap:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,
► Put the harness over your left shoulder if you
are holding the rear handle with your right
hand. Put it over your right shoulder if you are
holding the rear handle with your left hand.
► When a metal cutting attachment is mounted,
you must install the barrier bar, wear a proper
harness and always grip the rear handle with
your right hand and front handle with your left
hand. That means you must place the single
harness over your left shoulder when working
with a metal cutting attachment.
To put on the full harness:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,
► Put on the full harness over both shoulders.
To adjust the harness:
