14 Assembling the Trimmer / Brushcutter
► Always wear the battery harness over both
shoulders.
► Thread the end of the waist belt through the
loops (3) and (4).
► To remove the harness, open the quick-
release fasteners on the waist belt and chest
strap and loosen the harness straps by lifting
the sliding adjusters.
To help reduce the risk of injury in the event of
an emergency, practice quickly opening the fas‐
teners on the waist belt and chest strap, loosen‐
ing the shoulder straps and removing the battery.
NOTICE
■ To avoid damage, ease the battery to the
ground when practicing. Do not allow the bat‐
tery to drop to the ground and do not throw it.

14.1
Mounting the Loop Handle
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of injury from loss of con‐
trol, ensure that the loop handle is properly
and securely mounted before starting work.
To mount the loop handle:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,

► Insert the bolt (8) through the hole in the
clamping lever (5).
The indentation of the bolt (8) should be facing
down.
► Place one clamp (3) in the loop handle (2) and
line up the holes in the loop handle and clamp.
► Position the loop handle (2) and clamp (3)
against the drive tube (9).
► Line up the holes in the bolt and clamping
lever and Insert the long screw (7).
► Position the other clamp (4) against the under‐
side of the drive tube (9).

► Line up the holes and insert the short
screw (6) and the long screw (7).
► Attach the nuts (1) and tighten until secure. Do
not over-tighten.
► Close the clamping lever (5)
14.2
Mounting the Barrier Bar
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of serious personal injury
from loss of control or contact with the cutting
attachment, use a metal grass blade or brush
knife only if the unit is equipped with a loop
handle, barrier bar and harness.
To mount the barrier bar:
► Switch off the power tool,
► Remove the battery,
► Place the barrier bar (2) in position under the
loop handle (3).
► Insert the screw (1) and tighten it down
securely. Ensure that the handle and barrier
bar are tight and will not move during opera‐
tion.

Mounting and Removing a
Deflector
14.3.1
Mounting a Deflector
WARNING
■ To reduce the risk of injury from thrown
objects or contact with the cutting attachment,
never operate the trimmer / brushcutter with‐
out a properly mounted deflector. Keep
bystanders at least 50 ft. (15 m) away. When
using a deflector designed for use with a metal
cutting blade, you must change the deflector
or add a skirt before mounting a mowing head.

■ The cutting attachment and deflector must be
