SAFETY
Ensure that anyone who operates this machine
reads and fully understands the instructions in this
manual. All rotary grass cutters are potentially
dangerous. No person should be allowed to
operate or maintain this machine who is not fully
acquainted with all controls and safety procedures.
NOTE: This cutting machine can amputate
hands and feet and throw objects. Failure to
follow these safety and operating instructions
could result in serious injury or death.

blades stop before
removing grass
collector or unclogging.

people and pets.

Maximum safety and best mowing results can only
be expected if the mower is understood, maintained
and operated properly.
PREPARING FOR SAFE OPERATION
Prepare yourself:
1. Read this Operators Manual and instructions
furnished with attachments.
2. Know the controls and how to stop quickly.
3. Wear proper protective clothing such as, but not
limited to, protection for the eyes, ears, feet,
hands and head.
4. Do not operate machine while under the influ-
ence of drugs or alcohol.
Prepare the machine:
1. Be certain the machine and attachments are in
good operating condition. Keep all shields and
safety devices in place and in working condition.
2. Pay particular attention to the security of the
blades, tires, steering and brakes.
3. Keep all fasteners tight to be sure the equipment
is in good working condition.
4. Keep engine and belt covers free of grass,
leaves or grease that could cause a fire if
allowed to accumulate.
5. Do not operate mower unless discharge chute is
lowered, mulcher inserted or entire grass
catcher is in place. Be aware of discharge
direction.
7. Do not start the engine or cutter blades until
ready to start mowing.
Mow only if conditions are right:
1. Before starting the engine, make sure:
– the parking brake is on,
– foot is off the forward/reverse pedal
– PTO switches are off
2. Clear the entire grass area of all debris that
might attach, be picked up or be thrown by the
mower.
3. Unless there is very good artificial light, mow
only during daylight.
4. Do not mow in wet conditions.
