3. Hanger brackets - Proper height of cut
adjustment also requires selecting the proper
pin position in the deck hanger brackets.
a) Choose a hole in the brackets in accordance
with the Height of Cut chart and insert the pins.
b) With the deck lowered to level ground,
measure the blade height above the ground at
the front of blade travel, and again at the back.
c) With standard (non-mulching) decks, the blade
should be pitched 1/8-1/4" closer to the ground
at the front. If closer to the ground at the rear,
select the next highest hanger hole position
and recheck the pitch.
d) If the hanger hole position was reselected to
control the pitch of the blade and the height of
cut is found to be incorrect, return to Step 2 on
the previous page to adjust the caster spacers.
