OPERATION
FORWARD/REVERSE FOOTPEDAL
Your foot should be off the Forward/Reverse pedal
when starting the engine. Pedal F must be in the
neutral postion without Neutral Latch E depressed
for the engine to start.
The Forward/Reverse pedal will not work unless
the Neutral Latch is depressed. When the engine is
started, pushing forward on the upper part of the
pedal makes the machine go forward. Pushing on
the heel plate makes it go in reverse. Ground
speed in either direction depends upon how much
the Forward/Reverse pedal is pressed.
NOTE: The heel plate may be removed by taking
out two screws from the bottom side. For some
operators, operating with the heel plate removed is
more comfortable.
BRAKES
Single pedal (shown) - Set the parking brake on
both front wheels by pushing pedal G fully until it
latches. Release by stepping on H.
Dual pedals (optional, P/N 970211)
Set the parking brake on both front wheels by:
- sliding the lock pin above the pedals to the
right and forward into the retaining notch.
- step on either brake pedal fully to latch (both
pedals will operate together).
- Release by stepping on H.
To use the pedals independently for steering:
- Slide the lock pin above the pedals out of the
retaining notch and it will spring to the left.
- Step on the right pedal to brake the right
wheel; step on the left pedal to brake the left
wheel.
- Set the parking brake when the pedals are
operating independently by stepping on both
simultaneously until they latch together.
NOTE: Do not drive machine with parking brake on
as damage will occur.
