ADJUSTMENTS

SEAT
Spring Seat - Lever adjusts seat for 3-4" of travel.
NOTE: Optional shock absorber available for
spring seat (P/N 970049).
Deluxe Suspension Seat - Lever U allows 3-4" of
seat adjustment. Knob W adjusts the suspension
travel so the seat does not bottom out when the
tractor is traveling over rough ground.
STANDARD PARKING BRAKE
1. For maximum braking power, a force of 135
pounds in required to set the parking brake,
engaging the brake lock G.
2. Adjust brake rods on the right and left hand
sides so that they both begin brake engage-
ment at the same time. If adjustment is
needed, loosen the lock nut H, remove the
hairpin cotter and the clevis pin I.
3. Rotate the clevis J as required.
4. Tighten lock nuts H.
5. Additional adjustment is available at the brake
arm if necessary by tightening nut K. Front
wheels must be removed in order to make an
adjustment at the brake arm.
NOTE: These brakes are self adjusting and should
not require additional adjustment under normal
operating conditions. If linings or brake drums
appear worn or damaged have them replaced
immediately by an experienced service technician.
ADJUSTING OPTIONAL STEERING BRAKES
(P/N 970211)
1. Set the parking brake on both front wheels by
sliding lock pin above the pedals to the right
and forward into the retaining notch.
2. Follow steps for setting standard parking brake
pedals above.
