BABBOE CARVE MOUNTAIN

Cycling
The Babboe Carve Mountain offers you a unique cycling experience. The box moves as you guide your cargo bike
through bends. This means that despite the two wheels in the front, you still ride the Babboe Carve Mountain
as if it were a regular bicycle or a two-wheeled cargo bike. The steering movement is almost the same as with a
regular bicycle or two-wheel cargo bike. This leaning movement is also known as "carving". The carve-lock also
lets you choose to cycle without tilting the box. Please see below for additional information about the carve-lock.
Carve-lock
The carve-lock simply locks the box so the box doesn't tilt when children get in and out of the box and when
parking. The carve-lock is located on the handlebars side of the box, on the left-hand side. The carve-lock is
engaged by sliding the small lever to the left. To disengage the carve-lock, slide the lever to the right and then
slightly downwards. This locks the small lever so that it no longer can move to the left.
Parking Brake
The parking brake is located on the left brake lever. In order to engage the cargo bike's parking brake, first pull the left
brake lever. Then slide the small metal crank/button to the left to set the parking brake. Now release the brake lever,
so that the brake is secured. The cargo bike's parking brake is now engaged.
Adjustable handlebar
It is possible to adjust the height and the angle of the handlebar. Loosen the handlebar stem and place the
handlebar in the desired position. Be careful not to pull the handlebar out too far. Pay to the marked indent on the
handlebar stem that determines the maximum allowable position. When the handlebar is in the correct position,
tighten the handlebar stem.
Lighting
The Babboe Carve Mountain comes with both front and rear lighting. The lighting is powered by the battery
located under the bench and can be operated via the handle bars. The front has two lamps which are attached
to the bottom of the box. The back light is always mounted on the support under the saddle, unless you have
purchased the optional rear carrier. In that case, the back light is mounted on the carrier.

GENERAL ADVICE FOR USE

Tire and spoke tension
In order to continue cycling in a light and comfortable way, the tire pressure should remain the same. This means a
pressure of 3.5-4 bar. The harder the tires, the more comfortable and lighter it is to cycle. Check the tension of the
spokes regularly. When they are 'loose', get them tightened at an approved bicycle shop or at your Babboe dealer.
Accessories
There are several fun and functional accessories available for the electric Babboe Mountain. For example, to
keep your children safe we have the Maxi-Cosi carrier, baby seat, toddler chair and various cushion sets. For
convenience we have the rain tent, sunroof and several cargo bike covers. To make it more cheerful, we also
have specially designed stickers. Babboe is continuously looking to expand its range with new and exciting
accessories, so make sure you check the new range in the shop regularly.
Rear carrier
As a standard, the Babboe Mountain cargo bikes are delivered without a rear carrier. However, if you want to use one,
you can. The webshop has a rear carrier available for loads up to 25 kg.
WARRANTY & MAINTENANCE
Warranty
To keep the warranty on your Babboe Mountain cargo bike, it is important to get your bike serviced within the first
4-12 weeks or after 100 km of heavy use to check if the main components (including gears, spokes and brakes) are all
working effectively. This can be done at your local bike shop or Babboe dealer.
Maintenance
Even though the electric Babboe Mountain contains high-quality components, it is very important to keep it well
maintained. Lubricate moving parts on a regular basis and ensure that the cables remain flexible, for example,
during cold spells of frost. At the back of this manual is a maintenance overview. Keep the receipts for the
warranty for the maintenance and inspection.
Maintenance of the wooden cargo box
The box is resistant to the Dutch climate. However, we still recommend that you always use a rain cover, rain tent
or cargo bike cover. This will protect the box against the various weather conditions. It will also, for example,
protect the cargo bike against damage from children climbing in and out of the box. Damage to the paint makes
the wood more vulnerable to moisture. If damage occurs, treat it with a clear coating of varnish suitable
for outdoor use. This will prevent moisture from penetrating into the wood.
