Possible faults

Before each fault clearance
− switch off device
− wait for stop of chain saw
− pull out main plug
After each fault clearance, put into operation and recheck all security installations.
Fault
Machine fails to start after
switching on or switches off
during idle running
Machine stops while cutting
Workpiece sticks when feeding
Burned spots at the cut areas
Chip outlet is clogged
Motor running, saw blade will not
turn.
Saw vibrates
Possible cause
• Power failure
• Extension cable defect
• Motor or switch defect
• Saw blade sticks
• Saw blade blunt
• Feed is too great
• Motor protecting switch has tripped
• Saw blade is dull
• The longitudinal or parallel stop is not
parallel to the saw blade, see p. 23
• Saw blade is not suitable for the work step or
is dull
• No exhaust system connected
• Exhaust power too weak
• V-belt too loose or defect
• Saw blade is warped
• Saw blade not properly mounted
Removal
• Replace fuse
• Check cable, no longer use defect cable
• Have motor or switch checked by an
approved electrician or replaced by original
spare parts
• Remove the cause of the jam.
• Replace saw blade
• Allow motor to cool and proceed working
with less pressure
• Switch motor back on after cooling ("Motor
protection", page 22)
• Hold the workpiece firmly and switch the
motor off immediately. The have the saw
blade sharpened or renew
• Readjust the scale, see p. 23
• Replace saw blade or have it sharpened
• Switch off saw, remove chips and connect
exhaust system
• Switch off saw, remove chips and increase
exhaust power (air velocity 20 m/sec at chip
exhaust neck.
• Contact an authorised customer service
workshop
• Replace saw blade
• Mount saw blade properly
