The operator or the manufacturer of the system is responsible for
selecting and using the accessories in accordance with the local
conditions. You must also abide by any other requirements of the
respectively applicable regulations and standards.

Installation and commissioning

9.1

Directives and standards

The product conforms with the following directives and stand-
ards:
Machine Directive 2006/42/EC
EN ISO 12100:2010
EN ISO 13849
EN 60204
Machines for man riding or man riding and material handling
(transport of persons):
EN 1808:1999 + A1:2010
Machines for lifting loads (transport of materials):
EN 14492-1:2006 + A1:2009
The safety goals required by Directive 2006/95/EC have
been complied with in accordance with Appendix I No. 1.5 of
the Directive 2006/42/EC.
The operator or the system manufacturer is responsible for en-
suring that the machine is used within the limits specified in these
instructions. The operator or the system manufacturer must also
observe the directives and standards for the machine in which
the unit will be fitted.
9.2
Checks to be undertaken before
starting installation
Check the rigging, deflection rollers and an-
choring points
Check to ensure that the deflection roller, the rigging and
the on-site anchoring point all have the necessary minimum
breaking strength, see 'Structural requirements' on page 6.
Inspecting the installation site
General
Check if other components obstruct a correct installation.
The installation space must not contain any sharp or edged
components.
Check that the mounting does not cover any nameplates
(see Fig. 4).
If necessary provide for notches.
Check whether a suitable connection for the power supply in
accordance with chapter 'Electrical connection' on page 12
is available on site.

Hoists
Comply with the necessary installation space listed in Fig. 2
and Table 1 on page III.
Check to ensure that the wire rope enters the hoist vertically
in the pulling direction (Fig. 2).
Check the components and the accessories
General
Check that the components and the accessories are com-
plete (See ' 3.2 Scope of delivery' on page 5 and
' 4.2 Components / Modules' on page 8).
Check for signs of damage.
Check that all of the screw connections are tight.
Replace any damaged parts or have them repaired by a
specialist. Repairs are only to be carried out by a specialist
workshop or by personnel from TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH.
Wire rope
Check whether the diameter and design of the wire rope
match the product and the application, see Table 1 on
page III, Table 7 on page 22 and 'Nameplate and warning
signs / application restrictions' on page 7.
The load must be guided by on-site means.
If the load cannot be guided by on-site means then a rota-
tion-resistant wire rope with a swivel hook or a rope swivel
must be used.
Swivel hook and rope swivel must turn freely when subject-
ed to loads.
Check that the length of the wire rope is sufficient.
It must be possible to safely move the load from the start to
the end position.
The wire rope must be long enough so that the rope end
connection or the load bearing point or the rope end itself
cannot be pulled up to or into the product or the accessory
parts.
Inspect the entire length of the wire rope for any signs of
damage, see Fig. 11.
Inspect the wire rope tip in accordance with Fig. 10 (see
also ' 15.4 Care and maintenance, Wire rope' on page 22).
Clean regularly.
Check whether the thimble (1) and sealing cuffs (2) are
undamaged (see Fig. 19).
Wire ropes with hooks:
Check that the hook and the safety catch (3) are intact, see
Fig. 19.
Wire ropes with safety hooks:
Check to ensure that the safety hooks (4) shut correctly and
that the locks work, see Fig. 19.
Anchoring devices
Check whether the bolts/screws/rigging comply with the
specifications in ' 4.8 Anchoring' on page 10.
