DANGER!
Risk of being injured by falling objects!
– Secure loads against falling.
– Secure loads against twisting.
– Switch on the on-site main switch or insert the CEE plug into
the connector.
– Turn the EMERGENCY-STOP button to the right until it
releases:
The control unit is switched on.
– Attach the load.
– On wire ropes with hooks: Close the safety catch.
– Always abide by the maximum permitted load when loading
the load lifting equipment.
Note:
Moving / rocking whilst stopped can result in the "overload"
buzzer being activated or the warning light coming on. No over-
load is present if the buzzer or the warning light switches off as
soon as the man riding equipment stops moving.
Operating the hoist
– Run the hoist in the pulling direction until the wire rope is
tensioned (run hoists with two speeds at the lower speed).
– Run the hoist in the pulling direction until the load lifting
equipment is raised or pulled.
– Let down or release load.
– Observe the end of the rope when lowering or slackening.
– Stop immediately when damage, loops or knots are detect-
ed.
– Stop: Release the button.
If the wire rope / hoist does not stop:
– Press the EMERGENCY-STOP button.
– If the EMERGENCY-STOP button fails, disconnect the hoist
power supply (e.g. by pulling out the plug).
– Have the hoist inspected and serviced by an electrician or
authorized service personnel (see ' 15.1 Authorized mainte-
nance personnel' on page 20).
10.3 Measures following an emergency
stop
– First make sure that the power supply is not interrupted.
a) The phase sequence relay has triggered.
– Turn the phase reverser in the CEE plug by 180° (see
Fig. 13).

b) On hoists fitted with hand cranks: The hand crank is in the
operating position.
In case the hand crank is not in operating position:
– Have the hoist inspected and serviced by an electrician or
authorized service personnel (see ' 15.1 Authorized mainte-
nance personnel' on page 20).
c) The EMERGENCY-STOP button on the control station has
been pressed.
– Unlock the Emergency stop button.
d) Emergency limit switch has been triggered.
If no operating limit switch UP is available:
– Lower the PLE from the emergency limit switch manually
(see ' 10.4 Emergency descent') until the hoist can be
switched back on again.
If an operating limit switch UP is available:
– Clarify why the operating limit switch has been run-over.
If necessary:
– Have the hoist inspected and serviced by an electrician or
authorized service personnel (see ' 15.1 Authorized mainte-
nance personnel' on page 20).

10.4 Emergency descent

The load lifting equipment can be lowered manually in the event
of a power failure.

Risk of falling! Risk of injury from falling objects!
You are only allowed to lower the hoist in manual mode in an
emergency.
– The hoist must always be tested by TRACTEL Greifzug
GmbH or a hoisting gear workshop that has been author-
ized by TRACTEL Greifzug GmbH after an emergency
descent.
Exception:
emergency descent from the emergency limit switch;
emergency descent over a distance shorter than 20 m.
– Any damaged or worn part found must always be re-
placed.

The centrifugal brake might not brake the load in case of
overloading!
– In the event of overloading, never open the operating
brake (spring-loaded brake) manually.
The centrifugal brake prevents rope speeds that are too high
when lowering manually.
See Fig. 14.
– Remove the lever (1) from the anchoring.
– Insert the lever (1) into the brake bracket through the slot in
the hood of the motor (2).
