Check BSO limit switch
Trigger the fall arrest device.
Switch the hoist on in the DOWN direction.
The hoist must not be switched on.
Switch the hoist on in the UP direction.
The upwards movement must still be possible.
End of test
Record the inspection results in the logbook.

Operation

Personnel must have been trained by the operator in operating
the unit and be authorized to use it.

10.1 Checking before starting work

Check the wire rope for clinging dirt on a daily basis and
clean if necessary.
Check that everything is ready for working on a daily basis,
see ' 9.4 Commissioning, Determining operational readiness'
on page 14.
Run the function test on a daily basis, see
' 9.4 Commissioning, Functional test' on page 14.
Record the inspection results in the logbook.
10.2 Operation
DANGER!
Risk of crushing! Risk of injury!
Between the load lifting equipment and structure or parts of
the hoisting gear!
Do not lean out of the load lifting equipment when mov-
ing.
Watch out for obstructions and protruding objects.
Risk of falling! Risk of being injured by falling objects!
The load or load lifting equipment may jam and fall!
Constantly observe the load, the load lifting equipment
and wire rope.
If necessary, work with a supervisor.
Agree upon hand gestures before commencing use.
If visual contact is not possible, use a mobile phone or
walkie-talkie for communicating.
Never stand beneath suspended loads.
Cordon off the dangerous area whenever necessary.
Support and secure caught or jammed loads.

Risk of being crushed! Danger of being pulled in! Risk of
injury!
On the wire rope and wire rope hoist!
Never touch the wire rope whilst the hoist is in operation!
Do not reach into the inlet or outlet of the hoist.
Risk of being crushed! Risk of injury!
From the rotating motor shaft!
Check that the plugs on the motor (see Fig. 14, Item 3)
are seated correctly.
Risk of falling! Risk of being injured by falling objects!
Overloading can result in destruction of the hoist or the safety
devices! This can result in malfunctions!
Observe the maximum permitted load when loading the
load lifting equipment.
Do not release stuck or jammed loads by pulling with the
hoist.
Do not pull loads with hoists for raising and lowering
diagonally.
Avoid excessive inching/jogging (e.g. giving the motor
short impulses).
Risk of falling! Risk of being injured by falling objects!
Moisture can impair the effectiveness of the brake!
Check that the plugs on the motor (see Fig. 14, Item 3)
are seated correctly.
Never use a high pressure cleaner to clean the wire rope
or products that make contact with the rope.
Risk of burns!
Motors can become hot during operation!
Do not touch the motors.
Danger of severe accidents!
Particular dangers exist when carrying out welding work.
You must always abide by the national safety and acci-
dent prevention regulations when carrying out welding
work.
ATTENTION!
Incorrect rope lengths!
Can result in damage to the device!
The wire rope end connection, the load bearing point or the
wire rope end itself must never be pulled up to or into the
product or the accessory parts!
Use a wire rope with adequate length.
Whenever necessary, monitor the wire rope during oper-
ation.
