The following must be observed if you do not use pre-
assembled plug connections and cables:
W
Use 5-wire, shielded lines
W
Connect the shield on both sides of the bus cable directly to
the plug housing (EMC housing). This protects data lines
from terminal interference.
W
Use cables with a wire cross-section of at least 0.34 mm
W
Wire connections X71 and X72 in accordance with the
following table.

How to connect the data lines on the bus coupler if using the
module as an intermediate station:
1. Connect the incoming bus coupler to X71 (1).
2. Connect the outgoing bus coupler with the next module

using the X72 output (2).
How to connect the data lines on the bus coupler, if using the
module as an individual or last station:
1. Connect the incoming bus coupler to X71 (1).
2. Close off the X72 connection (DDL OUT) (2) with the
DDL terminator plug (left figure, see "Spare parts and
accessories" on page 107). This ensures a defined line
termination and the valve system complies with the IP 65
protection class.
