17. Troubleshooting
The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to
work properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Fault
Motor (21) is running,
splitting column (1) does
not move up.
The motor (21) ends
the splitting process
automatically.
The splitting column (1)
only moves down slowly.
Log is not split.
Splitting column (1)
vibrates,
generates noises.
Splitting column (1)
vibrates strongly in the
upper position.
Hydraulic pump whistles.
Oil leakage at splitting
column (1)
or in other places.

Possible cause
Motor (21) turns in the wrong direction.
Overvoltage protective device was triggered.
Not enough oil available.
Screws on the control lever (16) are loose.
Bleeder screw (23) is closed..
Check if the cap nut (stroke setting bar) (31)
of the stroke setting bar (33) is loose.
Log splitter loaded incorrectly.
Splitting wedge (2) is blunt.
Oil leaks.
Low oil and excess air in the hydraulic
system.
Plastic guides are worn out.
Too little hydraulic oil in the hydraulic oil tank
(24).
Trapped air in the hydraulic system during
operation.
Bleeder screw (23) not tightened before
transport.
Oil drain screw (25) loose.
Oil valve and/or seals defective.

Remedy
Turn the phase inverter in the power
connection (see point 10.6).
Call a qualified electrician.
Check oil level with oil dipstick (30)
screwed in.
Tighten the screws on the control
lever (16).
Loosen the bleeder screw (23) two
turns before use.
Tighten the cap nut (stroke setting
bar) (31) of the stroke setting bar
(33). If necessary, fit a new cap nut.
Insert the log correctly.
Grind the splitting wedge (2).
Locate the leak, contact the dealer.
Check the oil level, top up if
necessary, otherwise contact the
dealer.
Replace the plastic guides at the top
and bottom.
Top up hydraulic oil.
Loosen the bleeder screw (23) two
turns before use.
Tighten bleeder screw (23) before
transport.
Tighten the oil drain screw (25) firmly.
Contact dealer.
