Preparation
NOTICE
Follow the LDV instructions for use and, if necessary, contact
the manufacturer.
Remove small parts (bayonet-type lock, slip ring, dia-
phragm) from the LDV according to the corresponding in-
structions for use. The small parts can also be prepared in
small parts baskets assigned to the LDV.
Procedure
NOTICE
Load the combination trolley from the side where the nozzle
frame is mounted. Load one horizontal row after the other.
1. Fix the drum of the combination trolley with the locking pin.
2. Check whether the holders for LDV are suitable for the
types of lung demand valves to be cleaned. Replace the
holder for LDV, if necessary. To do so, loosen the holder for
LDV by slightly pressing and holding the locking lever, turn
the holder for LDV counterclockwise and remove it. Insert
a new holder for LDV in the bayonet-type holder and, while
applying light pressure on the locking lever, turn it
clockwise until the locking device engages. Keep the
replaced holders for LDV in a safe place.
NOTICE
If the combination trolley is not fully loaded, take care to ensure
that it is loaded evenly so that no imbalance occurs.
3. Load one row with two full face masks (see chapter 4.2.2).
4. Open the rubber cover of the LDV and place small parts in
a small parts basket. The small parts basket must be
clearly assigned to the corresponding LDV. Mount the
small parts basket, e.g. opposite or below the lung demand
valve of the corresponding LDV.
5. Mount the LDV with the rubber cover open on the LDV
holder using the click or turn fastener.
6. Insert the compressed air hose into the compressed air
coupling behind the next LDV holder in a clockwise
direction when looking at the LDV holder and lock it.
Always pass the compressed air hose on the inside of the
LDV.
NOTICE
Connect hoses with a special length to a suitable compressed
air coupling so that the hose cannot get caught when the drum
rotates. If necessary, use another compressed air coupling or
the one after the next. It may not be possible to fully load the
combination trolley.
CAUTION
Danger of jamming due to the drum being loaded on one side
When the locking pin is released, the drum can rotate by itself.
► Proceed with caution and fix the locking pin again after
controlled rotation.
7. When two LDV have been applied, open the locking pin
and carefully rotate the drum. When the next row to be
loaded is accessible for full face masks and LDV, fix the
locking pin again.
8. Continue to load the combination trolley until all the full face
masks and LDV to be processed have been applied.
9. Carefully check the combination trolley for ease of
movement when rotating and check that no imbalance is
caused by uneven loading and that the PPE cannot
become caught on the combination trolley due to the
rotational movement of the drum.
4.2.4
Trolley for SCBA and helmets (optional)
NOTICE
The Dräger fire helmets listed below can be processed in the
MFC 7000:
► HPS 4300
► HPS 4500
► HPS 7000
NOTICE
► The following explains the preparation and procedure for
the SCBA and then for the helmets.
► Prepare the SCBA or the helmet for the wash cycle on a
suitable surface (e.g., workbench).
Preparation of SCBA
NOTICE
Follow the SCBA instructions for use and, if necessary, contact
the manufacturer.
Dismantle compressed air cylinders not intended for the
wash cycle.
Connect the vent valve in its closed position to the coupling
of the SCBA.
Connect the compressed air cylinder provided for the wash
cycle to the SCBA.
Remove the side holders on the frame on each tier that is
used for washing with the 4 knurled screws per holder and
fit them in the innermost position on the respective tier.
Open the compressed air cylinder and check the pressure
on the pressure gauge of the SCBA. The cylinder pressure
must be in the permissible pressure range of the SCBA for
the wash procedure. If the pressure is too low, the
compressed air cylinder must be removed and filled again:
a. Close the cylinder valve.
b. Open the vent valve and wait until the pressure has es-
caped.
c. Loosen the cylinder.
d. Fill the compressed air cylinder.
e. Reconnect the compressed air cylinder to the SCBA
and check that the pressure is correct.
