TIMED RELAY SWITCHING
This procedure makes it possible to control only the switching of the relays on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards, which remain swit-
ched for a certain period of time and then return to the original position.
1) Press the function key associated to the relays to be switched (e.g. "F2"). The corresponding LED (ref. 10 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up,
along with the "CLEAR" LED, and the following message appears on the console display:
2) If necessary, repeat the operation described in point (1) to control the relays associated to other function keys.
3) Press "ENTER" to make the request for enabling the functions selected. The "ENTER" LED (ref. 15 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up to con-
firm that the request has been sent. The following message appears on the console display, indicating that you must wait a few seconds.
When the relays are switched, the following message is displayed:
The relays remain activated for 5 seconds, after which they automatically return to the original position. When the 5 seconds have pas-
sed, the "ENTER" and "CLEAR" LEDs go off, along with the LEDs for the function keys, and the message preceding the selection reap-
pears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
4) Press "CLEAR" to cancel the function at any moment and switch the relays back to the original position. The "ENTER" and "CLEAR"
LEDs and the selected function key LEDs go off, and the message preceding the selection reappears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNI-
CATION ON").
IMPORTANT NOTE
• If "CLEAR" is pressed when the relays have already been switched, they will return to the original position with a delay of about 1 se-
cond after the command has been given.

RELAY SWITCHING AND REMOTE MESSAGE TRANSMISSION

This procedure makes it possible to control simultaneously the switching of relays on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards and tran-
smission of an audio signal stored on the CP 3100 control unit to certain zones (or groups of zones).
1) Select the zones in which you want to transmit the audio signal (message or tone), as described in the section "SELECTING ONE OR MO-
RE AUDIO ZONES", or in the section "SELECTING ALL THE AUDIO ZONES".
IMPORTANT NOTE
• It is not possible to proceed as described below unless at least one zone or a group of zones has been selected.
2) Press the function key associated to the relays to be switched (e.g. "F2"). The corresponding LED (ref. 10 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up,
along with the "CLEAR" LED, and the following message appears on the console display:
3) If necessary, repeat the operation described in point (2) to control the relays associated to the other function keys.
4) Press the function key associated to the playback of the desired audio signal (e.g. "F1" - see the section "DISPLAY OF THE STORED PA-
RAMETERS"). The corresponding LED lights up, and the following message appears on the console display:
If no zone or group of zones was previously selected, the following message appears on the console display:
and subsequently the message preceding the selection reappears (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
5) Press "ENTER" to send the request to the CP 3100 control unit for enabling the function selected (relay control + audio signal playback).
The "ENTER" LED (ref. 15 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up to confirm that the request has been sent. The following message appears on the
display, indicating that you must wait a few seconds.
5a) As soon as the control unit makes a check on the free/engaged status of the resources necessary for audio signal playback, the con-
sole display shows one of the messages "a", "b", "c", "d", "e", "f", or "g" described in point (3) of the section "TRANSMITTING A
REMOTE MESSAGE".
