DESCRIPTION

The BM 3616 is a table-top microphone console with gooseneck to be used in the RCF RX 3000 audio system. The console makes it possi-
ble to carry out the following operations:
• selection of 16 audio zones or groups of audio zones.
• transmission of a microphone announcement in the zones (or groups of zones) selected, with the possibility of having the announcement
preceded by a 1, 2, or 3-tone signal (chime).
• playback of an audio signal (message or tone) recorded on the hard disk of the CP3100 control unit, and transmission of the signal in the
zones and/or groups of zones selected.
• playback of a microphone announcement recorded in the console memory and transmission of the announcement in the zones and/or grou-
ps of zones selected. If the system is engaged at the moment of transmission, the message is sent automatically as soon as the system is
free.
• control of relays on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards contained in the MB 3200 sub-racks. The control can be made either indi-
vidually or simultaneously with other message transmission operations.
• alarm control, with absolute priority transmission of a microphone announcement or alarm signal (message or tone) recorded on the CP3100
control unit.
The BM 3616 incorporates the following features.
– Back-lighted liquid crystal display, 1x16, for message display.
– 16 programmable keys for the selection of zones and/or groups of zones.
– Key for selecting all the zones of the system.
– 3 programmable function keys (F1, F2, F3) for controlling relays or for remote playback of audio signals (messages or tones).
– Alarm key for sending messages with absolute priority.
– Condenser microphone on gooseneck with lighted indicator ring.
– Microphone compressor equipped with level limiter.
– Digital recorder for local memorization of a microphone announcement of maximum 30 seconds duration.
– Pre-announcement signal generator for 1, 2, or 3-tone signals.
– Balanced audio output with transformer, with adjustable level.
– Audio output for headphone monitoring of the locally recorded message.
– Indicator lights for the zones and functions selected.
– Incorporated acoustic signaller (buzzer).
– Password for console activation.
– Connection to the control unit by means of RS 485 serial line.
– High reliability thanks to the "watchdog" hardware, which enables immediate recovery of normal operating conditions in the event of indu-
ced interference.
– Setup configuration stored in the console for quick system startup.
CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS (Fig. 1 – page 132)
(1) Numerical keys "1-16"
Each of these 16 keys is used for selecting an audio zone or a group of audio zones. A microphone announcement or a pre-recorded
message can be transmitted in the zones selected. The keys must be configured by means of a special menu on the CP 3100 control
unit for associating to a zone or group of zones. When a zone/group of zones is selected, the corresponding indicator light lights up
(ref. 2). During the configuration of the console, the keys are also used for setting numerical values.
with special attention, as they provide important safety information.
