g.
Indicates that the request for audio signal playback cannot be carried out due to a fault on one of the system devices, which is also in-
dicated by the "REMOTE FAULT" LED. The status of the LEDs associated to the previously selected numerical keys shows the free/en-
gaged status of the zones/groups of zones; i.e., the LEDs of the numerical keys corresponding to the unusable zones (or groups of zo-
nes) flash, and the LEDs of the numerical keys corresponding to the available zones (or groups of zones) are on continuously.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Due to special events (e.g. an emergency situation), the status of the zones may change. Free zones already connected to the console
could be engaged by other users having absolute priority ("override" capacity).
• The messages on the display and the way the LEDs are lit indicate the status of the system, and can therefore vary at any time (e.g. chan-
ge in status of the zones from free to engaged or vice versa).
4) To cancel the request made and interrupt the playback function, press "CLEAR". The LEDs of the zone/group selection keys light up, along
with the "ENTER" and "CLEAR" LEDs, and the message preceding the selection reappears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION
ON").
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Once the request for enabling the playback function has been sent by pressing "ENTER", it is possible to cancel the playback function
using "CLEAR" only if the audio signal playback has not yet begun!!!
• If "CLEAR" is pressed when playback of the recorded audio signal is already in progress, the BM 3616 console is reset (zones deselec-
ted), but playback continues until the end.

ALARM FUNCTION CONTROL

The function of the "ALARM" key is described in the section "CONTROLS AND FUNCTIONS". To control the alarm function, proceed as de-
scribed below.
IMPORTANT NOTE
• When the alarm function also involves switching of auxiliary relays of the system (relays on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards), the
relays will be switched independently from possible engagement of the resources necessary for transmitting an alarm signal (e.g. microphone
announcement, recorded audio signal). In effect, the relays switch immediately after the request has been sent using the "ALARM" key, even
if the the alarm signal is transmitted subsequently.
1) Press "ALARM" (ref. 6 – Fig. 1, page 132) and hold it down until the "ALARM" LED (ref. 5 – Fig. 1, page 132) lights up and the following
message appears on the console display indicating that you must wait a few seconds.
Any relays on the IO 3250 digital INPUT/OUTPUT boards defined with the programming of the "ALARM" key will switch immediately, re-
maining in the new status until the alarm is terminated; i.e.:
a. if the alarm involves the playback of a single audio signal recorded on the control unit, the relays are switched back to the original po-
sition at the end of the playback.
b. if the alarm involves transmission of a microphone announcement or continuous playback of an audio signal recorded on the control
unit, the relays are switched back to the original position when the alarm function is interrupted and disactivated by means of the
"ALARM" key (see point 2 below).
IMPORTANT NOTE
• When the alarm function is activated by mistake, press the "ALARM" key again to cancel the request immediately, keeping it pres-
sed until the "ALARM" LED goes off and the message preceding the request reappears on the display (e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
During the wait, the control unit connects the console to all the zones previously defined with the programming of the "ALARM" key on
the CP 3100 control unit. The connection is made with the maximum priority, and is only subordinate to any previous alarm event. At
the end of the wait, one or more of the following messages appear on the display.
a.
This message appears when the "MICROPHONE" source has been selected in programming the "ALARM" key on the CP 3100 control
unit. It indicates that the console microphone has been activated to permit the immediate transmission of an alarm announcement. The
microphone LED is on (ref. 25 – Fig. 1, page 132). If desired, it is possible to generate and transmit the 1, 2, or 3-tone pre-announcement
signal (when configured) by pressing and releasing the "PTT" key. In this case, the message "GONG ACTIVE ..." is shown on the display
and the "PTT" LED flashes (see point (4) of the section "SENDING A MICROPHONE ANNOUNCEMENT"). Subsequently the message "MI-
CROPHONE ON" reappears.
IMPORTANT NOTES
• Use of the "PTT" key is not necessary for activating the console microphone.
• The console microphone remains activated until the alarm function is disactivated.
