3) According to the number of tones to be selected, press one of the keys on the console as indicated in the table below.
The message on the display is updated with the new number of tones. To change a parameter just set, press one of the console keys
again. For example, when the pre-announcement chime signal is changed from one to three tones, the message on the display will chan-
ge from "CHIMES = 1" to "CHIMES = 3".
4a) Press "ENTER" (ref. 16 – Fig. 1, page 132) to store the number of tones set. The initial procedure for checking all the console parame-
ters is run again, and one of the messages described in the in the section "CONSOLE SWITCH-ON" will appear on the display.
4b) Press "CLEAR" to exit from the menu without saving the setting made. If the parameter had been previously set, the display will show
the last message displayed before going into the menu for assigning the pre-announcement signal. If the parameter had not been pre-
viously set, the console display will show the message: "CHIME? (0:3)".

LOCKING THE CONSOLE

PROCEDURE FOR LOCKING THE CONSOLE

The procedure described below makes it possible to prevent the console being used by unauthorized personnel. If a password for console
locking/unlocking has been programmed on the CP 3100 control unit, it is necessary to know the password number.
1) Press and release "CLEAR" and "PTT" together. The following message appears on the console display, asking the user to confirm the
console lock.
2a) Press "ENTER" to confirm the request. The message below appears on the display, instructing the user to enter the password number (if
used).
2b) Press "CLEAR" to exit from the menu without locking the console. The display will show the last message displayed before going to the
menu (normally "COMMUNICATION ON").
3) Press the numerical keys corresponding to the numbers of the password. Each time a numerical key is pressed, one of the "x" symbols
is replaced with a dot " . ". If the password is composed of less than 8 digits, you have to leave the remaining fields empty. For example,
when the first four numerical keys are pressed, the display shows:
If no password is used for console locking/unlocking, proceed as described in point (5).
IMPORTANT NOTES
• The password number to enter must exactly coincide with the one set on the CP 3100 control unit.
• The password can only be composed of the numbers: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.
4) Press "CLEAR" to interrupt the procedure at any moment. The display will show the last message displayed before going into the menu
(e.g. "COMMUNICATION ON").
IMPORTANT NOTE
• The "CLEAR" key can be used even when some numbers of the password have been entered.
5) Press "ENTER" to lock the console.
5a) When the console is locked, the following message appears on the display:
To unlock the console, follow the instructions in the section "PROCEDURE FOR UNLOCKING THE CONSOLE".
IMPORTANT NOTE
• When the console is locked, it is not possible to use any other function (e.g. console reset, parameter display, etc.) except for the
console unlocking function.
