Preparation for mounting
1 Create the lock pocket at a suitable mounting position in the door leaf. Factor in an additional 30 mm
for the cable loop for the depth.
2 Drill the holes for the fastening screws according to the figures shown below (depending on the
selected components).
3 Drill the holes for the lock fittings.
4 Clean the lock pocket and all holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
Electrical connections
1 Prepare the wiring for the electric multi-point lock 819N
("Electrical connection", page 68).
2 Connect the cables for the power supply and control unit.
Installing the electric multi-point lock 819N
1 Adjust the closing direction of the control latch ("Adjusting the closing direction of the latch", page 66).
2 Adjust the panic side ("Changing the panic side", page 67).
3 Fasten the electric multi-point lock 819N fully in the lock pocket with M5x45 EN 965 screws.
4 Fasten the lock fittings.
5 Check the electric multi-point lock 819N for ease of movement.
 Once the striking plate has been mounted, the electric multi-point lock 819N is ready for use.
Mounting the striking plate
1 Finish the striking plate pocket and all holes or finish a customer-provided striking plate ("Production
of customer-provided striking plates", page 74).
2 Clean the striking plate pocket and all holes by blowing them out or vacuuming.
3 Screw in the appropriate striking plate for the electric multi-point lock 819N to be screwed in complete-
ly with M5x45 EN 965 screws.
4 Check the electric multi-point lock 819N for ease of movement.
 The electric multi-point lock 819N is ready for operation.
Installing fittings and locking cylinders
1 Install the fittings.
2 Insert the locking cylinder and ensure that the locking cylinder nose is in the centre position (Fig. 18).
3 Fix the locking cylinder into place with the fixing screw.
 The electric multi-point lock 819N is completely installed.
Testing the electric multi-point lock 819N
1 Test all functions of the electric multi-point lock 819N.
2 Check whether the latch and auxiliary latch bolt of the lock are pushed back by the same impact edge.
3 Check whether all bolts can freely extend and retract without transverse shear stress after installation
(Fig. 7).
 The electric multi-point lock 819N is completely installed and has been tested for functionality.
