Notes on using the USB host port
• The USB host port supports the USB mass storage
class. (However not all types of USB flash memory
device are guaranteed with this port.)
• Connecting a USB flash memory device and this port
via a hub is not guaranteed.
• The port is USB Full-Speed compliant.
• The file system is FAT 12, 16 and 32.
• When your USB flash memory device has a lock
function, unlock it before using it.
• Do not use a USB flash memory device with two or
more drives.
When printing reduced images
All reduced images printed are stored as separate image
data files.
Notes
• The size of the JPEG file depends on the image data
and the type of input signal.
The size of the image data of RGB signals is larger
than that of VIDEO or S-VIDEO signals. The
sampling rate of the image data is set to a high value
because the image data of RGB input signals is a high
quality picture. Thus, the image size is larger.
• You cannot make a printout of image data stored in the
flash memory by loading it from the USB flash
memory device.
• The printer can write image data in the USB flash
memory. But the printer is not allowed to load or to
delete data from the USB flash memory device.

Making Printouts with File Names

You can make printouts of image data with file names
printed on the bottom left side of the printout.
File names of all of reduced images are printed.
When the printer is set to print make printouts with file
names, F is displayed on the left top.
Note
When the printer is set to make printouts with a caption,
the comment is printed with priority over the file name.
When you want to make printouts with file names, set
the function for printing a caption to OFF on the
CAPTION menu.
For details, see "Making Printouts With a Caption" on
page 36.
