GAS ENGINE SPINNER AND PROPELLER
PREPARATION
 The spinner cone has been prepared with the slots
for the propeller. Most engines of this size use four
bolts to retain the propeller. Careful positioning of the
drilled holes is required to make sure the propeller
aligns with the cutouts in the spinner cone.
 We recommend preparing at least two propellers in case
a new propeller is required when out flying the model.
 The spinners are painted to match the surface color of the
model. Use of a starter may damage the paint, especially if a
hard starter cone is used or it slips on the spinner surface.
141. Slide the spinner backplate, then the engine washer, on the
engine shaft. Use a felt-tipped pen to mark the holes in the
spinner backplate. Use a drill press to drill the holes for the
propeller mounting screws
142. Check that the spinner cone fi ts tightly in the backplate when
the propeller is in position. Trim the spinner cone if necessary
to provide clearance between the cone and propeller.
143. Attach the spinner cone to the backplate using the screws
provided with the spinner. Use a stepped reamer or bolt
through the spinner back plate and propeller to hold them in
alignment so the bolt holes for attaching the propeller can be
marked.
