Intended use

The standard panic lock is suitable for installation in tubular frame and solid leaf
doors, depending on the backset („Technical specifications", Seite 68).
It is part of the door lock. A door lock is the functional unit comprising lock and
installed accessories.
A standard panic lock with panic function P is used for locking doors in security
areas and is approved for emergency exit locks according to DIN EN 179. It can be
used according to the classification key ("DIN EN 179 – Panic function B, C, D, E,
and P", page 49).
A standard panic lock with panic functions B, C, D, or E is used for locking doors in
security areas and is approved for emergency exit locks according to DIN EN 179
and panic door locks in according to DIN EN 1125. It can be used according to the
classification key ("DIN EN 1125 – Panic function B, C, D, and E", page 48 and
"DIN EN 179 – Panic function B, C, D, E, and P", page 49).
It is approved fire fire doors. All applicable regulations for the complete fire door
must be observed.
A standard panic lock with panic function P may only be installed in single-leaf
doors.
A standard panic lock with panic functions B, C, D, or E may only be installed in
double-leaf doors when the inactive leaf can be held in place securely with zero
play and the active leaf runs against a stop edge.
With double-leaf doors with rebated meeting stile and panic locks in each leaf,
the leaf must open when the panic door lock is actuated. Both leaves must open
freely if both panic door locks are actuated at the same time.
With double-leaf doors with rebated meeting stile and door closer, the correct
door closing sequence must be assured; otherwise the function of fire doors or
smoke protection doors, in particular, is not guaranteed. It may be necessary to
install a follower.
The lock is suitable for installation and use according to these instructions. It is
not intended for any other type of use.
