Functions and operation
Emergency function
ASSA ABLOY Sicherheitstechnik GmbH differentiates between five panic function
variants ("Explanation of panic function B, C, D, E and P", page 45).
The panic function variants differ in their operation and the fittings to be
installed.
Fittings
The Standard Panic Lock B / C / D is suitable for front door fittings ("Maintenance",
page 66) on both sides, and so the door
· according to DIN EN 179 is operated from both sides with the door handle or
· according to DIN EN 1125 is operated with a panic bar in the escape direction
and is operated with a door handle opposite the escape direction.
Since the follower is split, the door handles (panic bar) on the inside and outside
operate independently of each other.
The Standard Panic Lock B / C / D has holes drilled in it for the end-to-end fastening
of oval and round rosettes and long escutcheons.
Unlocking pin
Double-leaf escape doors
The Standard Panic Lock B / C / D with
unlocking pin in the bolt (Fig. 12) is
installed in the active leaf in a set of
double-leaf doors.
There is an unlocking mechanism in
the inactive leaf which can push in the
unlocking pin and then the bolt.
In this manner, the locked escape door
can be unlocked and opened with the
door handle or panic bar of either door.
