Intended use

The security lock 309 is suitable for installation in solid leaf doors.
It is a mechanically operating mortise lock for use in escape doors, fire doors and smoke protection doors,
as well as standard applications.
The Security lock 309 for tubular frames is a mechanically operating mortise lock for use in doors opening
only outwards or only inwards.
The lock can be used on singe-leaf swing doors or on the active leaf of a two-leaf door if the inactive leaf is
secured against incorrect operation and the passage width of the active leaf suffices as an escape route
width.
It is approved for fire doors as a lock for automatically locking single-leaf doors and in the active leaf of
two-leaf swing doors.
All applicable regulations for the complete door system must be observed.
Only suitable striking plates may be used (see "Striking plates", page 49). We recommend using the
striking plates which we offer!
The device is suitable for installation according to the installation instructions and use according to the
functional description.
The version which is suitable for emergency exits according to DIN EN 179 is recognisable by the CE mark
on the face plate and the CE mark on the lock case. It is suitable for emergency situations in which panic
situations are not probable. A safe and effective passage through a door is enabled with only a single
actuation for the release of the escape door function, even if prior knowledge can be necessary for the
actuation of the lock.
The version without escape door function is equipped with a continuous handle follower. Both the outer
door handle and the inner door handle are simultaneously engaged or disengaged by the locking cylinder.
They may only be used if no emergency exits are involved. The special building code regulations must be
observed in this case.
The security lock 309M is suitable for installation in doors with a high usage frequency, which entails little
occasion for care and thus there is a possibility of accidents or misuse (such as office doors).
It is not intended for any other type of use.
