Explanation of terms

The face plate is screwed onto the door.
The latch bolt latches in the striking plate and controls the function of the control latch and the automat-
ic locking.
When the door is closed, the control latch extends to the striking plate, which in turn pushes it in. The
extension of the bolt is controlled in combination with the position of the latch bolt.
The bolt is always extended when an automatic locking door is closed.
The cylinder fixing screw is provided for the fastening of the locking cylinder in the lock case.
The profile cylinder (locking cylinder) is installed in the profile cylinder cutout and screwed into place with
the cylinder fixing screw.
The handle pin is a square pin which is guided through the follower and ends in the door handle. With
locks with a split lock nut, the handle pin is also split.
The backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the front edge.
The rear backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the rear edge.
The striking plate is the counterpart to the lock installed in the door frame (Pic. 7).
The rebate gap is the distance between the face plate and striking plate (Pic. 4).
