Explanation of terms

Description
The lock pocket is the recess in the door for the mounting plate of the mor-
tice lock.
The handle pin is a square pin which is guided through the follower and ends
in the door handle.
The profile cylinder is installed in the profile cylinder cutout and screwed into
place with the cylinder fixing screw.
The profile cylinder is fixed in place by the cylinder fixing screw.
The face plate is screwed onto the door.
The unlocking slide releases the latch. The lock can be switched to DIN left
hand or DIN right hand.
The lock case contains the locking mechanism.
The centres distance (also called "distance") is the distance between the spin-
dle hub centre and the keyhole centre (circle centre).
The backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the front edge.
The rear backset is the distance from the keyhole centre to the rear edge.
The bolt throw is the length of the visible bolt.
The chamber dimension is the distance between the fixing surface of the face
plate and the fixing surface of the striking plate.
The rebate gap is the distance between the face plate and striking plate (Fig. 3).
The striking plate is the counterpart to the lock installed in the door frame.
