Profile cylinder (locking cylinder)

The door handle (or door handles) is engaged and disengaged with the locking cylinder. Locking via the
locking cylinder is neither necessary, nor possible. The locking cylinder has an internal stop collar which
prevents it from fully rotating. The key must be pulled out in normal operation.

Unlocking and locking

The locked security lock 309 can be unlocked in various ways depending on the function (with and without
escape door function).

Versions with escape door function:

The locked security lock 309 with escape door function is unlocked in the following situations:
· the door handle is operated from inside;
· from the outside it is disengaged with actuation of the profile cylinder of the outer door handle, then
the door can be unlocked with the outer door handle.
When the doors are closed, the bolts automatically extend.

Versions without escape door function:

The locked security lock 309 without escape door function is unlocked in the following situations:
· from the outside it is disengaged with actuation of the profile cylinder of the outer door handle, then
the door can be unlocked with the outer door handle.
When the doors are closed, the bolts automatically extend.
Escape door function
In general: A door with escape door function can always be opened with the door handle from the inside,
even if it is locked.
The security lock 309 locks automatically. With an automatically locking door
lock, the closed door is always locked.

Functional principle

When the door is closed, the extended latch bolt (Pic. 5 - 1) is pushed inward
on the striking plate. If the latch bolt is pushed in, then the control latch can
also be pushed in (– 2). If the door is completely closed, the latch bolt slides
into the case opening in the striking plate and is extended again so that the
control latch remains pressed.
If the latch bolt is extended and control latch is pushed in at the same time, the
bolt (– 3) is released and extended via a spring mechanism. This mechanism
prevents the deadbolt from extending when the door is opened during normal
use.
