Door contact
The door contact is actuated by the striking plate, thereby reporting the door status.
With use of the OneSystem IO module N5950
If the motorized security lock 509N is connected to a OneSystem IO module N5950, the output signal of the
door contact is evaluated. A door closed status message is issued.
Fault message
If the latch bolt is extended while the control latch is pushed in, but the door contact has not been actu-
ated by the striking late, there is a fault ("The lock does not unlock", page 65). The following automatic
process is initiated:
· The lock is locked mechanically ("self-locking system") and is unlocked again automatically with a mo-
torized action.
- A fault message is generated, which can be displayed via the OneSystem IO module N5950.
· The fault message is reset automatically if the bolt has been closed again, either with a motorized action
or via mechanical actuation.
The cause of the fault must be removed.
The motorised security lock 509N has an automatic locking function. In the
case of door locks with automatic locking, the closed door is always locked.
Functional principle
The motorized security lock 509N is equipped with a door contact (Fig. 4 –
and "Explanation of terms", page 44) that is pushed in by the striking
plate while the door is closed.
When the door is closed, the latch bolt (Fig. 4 –
plate is pushed inwards. If the latch bolt is pushed in, then the control latch
(–

) can also be pushed in. If the door is completely closed, the latch bolt
slides into the latch opening in the locking plate and is thus extended again,
while the control latch remains pushed-in.
If the latch bolt is extended while the control latch is pushed in, the dead-
bolt (–
4
) is released and extended by means of a spring mechanism. This
mechanism prevents the deadbolt from extending when the door is opened
during normal use.
The locking process is only complete once the latch bolt and bolt have been
extended and the door contact is actuated. The lock is locked.
