Unlocking pin
Single-leaf escape doors
In single-leaf doors, the lock variant is used without an unlocking pin. When using the lock variant with an
unlocking pin in a single-leaf door, the unlocking pin has no function.

Electronic access control

The motorised security lock 509N can be unlocked by means of an electric motor, whereby the door can
also be opened outwards. The electrical contact can take place from the inside or outside by such means
as a release button, magnetic card reader, fingerprint reader, or door code system, to name a few
examples.
Control and status messages
There are two options for connecting the motorised security lock 509N:
· without additional control unit ("Connection (without OneSystem IO module N5950)", page 56) or
· with the OneSystem IO module N5950 (manual D00852xx OneSystem IO module N5950).
A control input is available for unlocking without an additional control unit. Status messages are not sent.
Office function
The office function enables permanent unlocking of the locking for control by means of a permanent
contact. In this way, the building can be made permanently accessible from outside for a predefined time
period by means of an electronic access control system or timer.
Toggle function
With control via the OneSystem IO module N5950, the toggle function enables switching between perma-
nent unlocking and locking of the lock each time the external release control input is activated.
Warning!
Permanent unlocking is not permitted in the case of fire and smoke protection doors: With perma-
nent unlocking (office function or toggle function), the secure locking function of a fire or smoke protection
door is no longer guaranteed.
Double-leaf escape doors
The motorised security lock 509N with unlocking pin in the bolt (Fig. 5) is
installed in the active leaf in a set of double-leaf doors.
There is a passive leaf lock with unlocking mechanism
("Accessories", page 62) in the inactive leaf which can push in the
unlocking pin and then the bolt.
In this manner, the locked escape door can be unlocked and opened with
the door handle or panic bar of either door.
