Property damage and impaired function due to incorrect lubrication: Do not lubricate the inside of the
lock. Do not spray any lubricants into the lock.
The security lock 309 is maintenance-free. Apply a fine film of silicon grease to the latch sliding surface if
necessary.
A fire door must be checked for safe function at least once per month. In particular:
· Inspect and operate all functions of the lock and make sure that all parts of the lock (lock and striking
plate) function safely.
· All parts of the lock must be clean to prevent blockage.
· No subsequent changes may be made to a fire door and no additional locking mechanisms may be
added.
· Check whether all components of the system still correspond to the list of approved components origi-
nally supplied with the system.
· Check whether all operating elements are safely mounted.
· Measure the actuating forces for releasing the escape door lock with a dynamometer and log the results.
Check that the actuating forces for releasing the escape door lock have not changed significantly since the
first installation.

Warranty

The legal warranty period applies. If the product is defective, please contact one of our subsidiaries in your
country. The addresses can be found on the back page of this manual.
The warranty becomes void if the product has been opened. With the use of lubricants and accessory
parts other than those mentioned in this manual, no warranty can be assumed. Damages due to normal
wear, excessive stress or improper handling are excluded from the warranty.
The following documentation must be sent in along with the device for a warranty claim:
· A copy of the invoice with date of purchase.
· A description of the defect or grounds for complaint.

Disposal

Packaging materials must be recycled. The product must be disposed of as metal scrap.
Applicable environmental protection regulations must be complied with.
