The numbering of the M8 connectors on the bus couplers
corresponds to the bit number.
With bus couplers with 8 inputs, the inputs I0 to I3 can be read
on data bit D1.0 to D1.3 of the first participant and the inputs I4
to I7 on data bit D2.0 to D2.3 of the second participant.
With bus couplers with 4 inputs, the inputs I0 to I3 can be read
on the data bit D1.0 to D1.3.
Input status is displayed by LEDs.
LED (yellow) lit: input on HIGH (active).
