protective equipment when working with materials which produce
airborne particles.
• Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling and
other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of
California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Some examples of these chemicals are:
• Lead from lead based paints
• Crystalline silica bricks and cement and other masonry products
• And Arsenic and chromium from chemically- treated rubber
Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do
this type of work. To reduce your exposure to these chemicals: work in a
well ventilated area, and work with approved safety equipment, such as
dust masks that are specially designed to filter out microscopic particles.
• Proceed with care in unfamiliar surroundings. Be aware of potential
hazards created by your work activity. This tool is not insulated for com-
ing into contact with electric power sources.
Special conditions for safe use in potentially
explosive atmosphere
• If an explosive atmosphere is detected, immediately stop the tool and
place it in a stable and secure location.
• It is the responsibility of the user to make sure that the tool and all
possible accessories for the tool, such as socket and air connections,
conform to the national safety regulations for equipment used in poten-
tially explosive areas.
• If the product is installed in an equipment, the entire equipment has to
correspond to the guidelines 94/9/EC.
• If the product is part of an assembly where the components have differ-
ent ATEX codes, the component with the lowest level of safety defines
the ATEX code of the whole assembly.
Temperatures
• Installation, use and maintenance related to explosion protection, shall
be performed according to applicable national provisions. For European
Union, provisions based on Directive 1999/92/EC shall be considered

along with another applicable national standards.
• The maximum surrounding temperature for which the certification is
valid is 40°C.
• 40°C is also the maximum allowed temperature of the compressed air
when it enters the product.
• Make sure that the compressed air fulfils our quality demands (quality
classes 2.4.3. and 3.4.4 respectively 3.5.4 acc. to ISO/DIS 8573-1).
• Do not exceed maximum pressure of 6.3 bar, or as stated on the
product nameplate. Exceeding the operating pressure can increase the
surface temperature due to higher rotating speed and the product can
become an ignition source.
Usage
• Make sure that the tool is only used for its intended purposes. The tool
must only be used for fitting and dismantling work within the range of
normal screw cycles: max 10s at load (impacting) / 2s at free speed,
every 30s. It is not permitted to use the tool in constant operation (for
example instead of a compressed air motor).
• To avoid inappropriate use, where impact sparks can occur between
the socket and the screw or nut to be tightened, it is recommended to
use torque wrenches exclusively.
• Make sure that this tool is not worn and that a perfectly tight-fitting con-
nection is assured between the square drive of the tool and the socket
and between the socket and the screw or nut to be tightened.
• Make sure the tool is earthed to the equipotential bonding system of
the workshop, for example through accessories such as hoses and air-
pressure connections.
• Do not drop or drag the tool and do not hit against other objects.
• In case of unusually high level of vibration or temperature, or if the mo-
tor housing is damaged, stop using the tool until it has been controlled
and repaired if necessary.
maintenance
• Maintenance and repairs of this ATEX tool must be carried out exclu-
sively by authorised personnel,
• High wear parts shall be replaced regularly
